15 Healthy Food Options For Labor Day

We are talking Labor Day food options that are healthy. You may already have these foods on your healthy food list, but did you think about having them for your Labor Day meal. Here are 15 healthy Labor Day foods you can add to your menu.

1) Loaded Broccoli Salad - This is a refreshing and easy way to stay healthy and enjoy something light.
2) Fruit bowl - You can include any fruit that you like. The most common for a fruit bowl are green grapes, mangos, watermelon and blueberries.
3) Turkey sliders - While you’re throwing something on the grill, add small turkey patties to your menu. You can top the burgers with onions, cheese, and cucumbers.
4) Cucumber Salad - Slice up some cucumbers put a little salt and/or seasoning salt and serve. Your guests will love this healthy, refreshing treat.
5) Pasta Salad - You can use any box pasta salad and add your favorite items such as broccoli bites, salami, tomatoes, etc.

6) No Cook Platter - Put together a try of sliced veggies, fruit, meat, and cheeses to serve. This will eliminate cooking time and give your guests something to nibble while waiting for the main dish.
7) Chicken Salad Wrap - Make your favorite chicken salad and add it to a tortilla shell, wrapped with shredded cabbage or lettuce.
8) Grilled Tilapia - Season fish with all your favorite seasonings, place it on a small sheet of foil with a slice of lemon, close the foil and put on the grill until fully cooked.
9) Crab Sub - Get crab meat and mix it like chicken salad. Then add it to a sub bun with lettuce.
10) Grilled Salmon with Basil - wash and place the salmon on a piece of foil, add extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, basil and minced onion. Fold foil and place on grill about 10-15 minutes.

11) Veggie Kebabs - Put your favorite veggies on a stick and grill them. Many people use bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, etc.
12) Apple Cinnamon Cookies - Make these cookies substituting the egg for non dairy milk. These can be a great way to curve the sweet craving.
13) Steamed Cabbage - Wash and chop the cabbage. Put it in a large skillet with butter, salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and bacon bits. Let simmer until tender. Typically 10 minutes.
14) Grilled Chicken and Mango Skewers - Take bite size chicken and mango slices and add them to a skewer then place on grill until the chicken is cooked all the way through.
15) Basil Grilled Corn On The Cob - Season the corn with butter, basil and salt then wrap the corn back in the husk and grill.
There are many ways to enjoy the Labor Day meal you decide to present to guests. Make sure the food is something you will enjoy and won’t take you too much time to prepare.
