4 Tips To Choosing A Writing Topic

Writing isn't for everyone. Those that choose to do it have a special place in their hearts for putting words on paper. One thing that can stomp, even the heart felt writers, is a topic. When you decide to write something you want it to be something others will enjoy, but you also want it to be something you enjoy. Here are 4 tips for choosing a writing topic.

1) Choose something you're interested in. When you do that the development of research, finding information and creating the story is enjoyable. If you choose to write about the environment, but that is boring to you, then your writing will most likely be simple and uninteresting. You're topic should create a passion in you that puts words on paper you didn't even think you could write.

2) Take one week and choose from 3 topics. If you're debating on what to write. Think of 3 things that you'd be interested writing. Then take a week to decide on which one to write. All of them may seem great, but when you really think about it, one is better for you.

3) Choose a writing genre that fits you best. Some writers are great with romance, while others like fantasy. Choose the genre that fits you best and try that first. If you've written in a certain genre for a while and are tired of that explore a different genre. There are no rules to being a writer. If you started out as a poet, you don't have to only write poetry unless that is what you desire.

4) Explore your inner self. What is aching to get out. Are you ready to write about your life, a topic, a situation, a person, etc. Knowing what resonates with you is the best way to choose a writing topic. You're able to distinguish what topics help you feel - fulfilled.

Writing is a gift. Use your gift to explore writing topics that you enjoy and will be enjoyable to others. You can write blogs, books, articles, for work, in your journal, etc. No matter what you're writing make it worth a readers time and worth your time writing it.
