5 Reasons To Meditate Before A Big Decision

Not everyone sits in a quiet room with candles and soft music every morning to tell themselves it will be a great day. In fact, some people never meditate. One thing that I have learned is that even if you're not big on meditation you should do it before all big decisions. Here are 5 reasons why:

1) You get clarity on your decision
When you meditate before a big decision you allow yourself to sit and think about it. Mentally you don't realize you are talking to your inner self and can get clarity on all aspects of the decision. You get the pros and cons. You are conferencing with yourself without the outside noise that allows you to get a clear answer. For example: if you are about to purchase a car, meditate the night before. When you wake up the next morning you will feel completely comfortable with buying it or you will feel that you can wait on a better opportunity.
2) You feel better about your decision
Having time to think about your decision without external distractions allows you to feel better about your decision. The soft music, aroma from candles and quiet from outside people allows you to create a ultimate decision that you will feel better about. You will feel like you've prepared for this, even if it is a spur of the moment (24 hour) decision.
3) You feel less stress about your decision
Making a big decision can be very stressful. Meditating before you make a decision can eliminate stress. You will have clarity, feel better about your decision and then you can walk into it without regret.
4) You get better rest
We all know a big decision can keep us up all night. Believe it or not if you meditate, you can fall asleep while thinking about your decision. When you wake up you have the answer and feel great.
5) You 're in agreement with yourself
When you are making big decisions, you're battling yourself. You're weighing the pros and cons, what you want vs what you need, and cost. When you meditate, you come to a conclusion you can agree on. If you decide for or against it, you feel like you made the best decision for you, without stress, loss of sleep and most importantly making the wrong decision.
Meditation is communication with your inner self. With the hustle and bustle of everyday life we loose that communication. Even if you don't do it often, do it before a big decision. Allow yourself to feel great about taking a job, buying a house, changing your career, talking out problems, etc. It's your life and you owe it to yourself to make it the best it can be. Grow, live, and change the world. Keep growing and inspiring.
