6 Ways To Better Yourself In 30 Days

As we enter the 2nd month of 2023 and people are still trying to figure out their goals, aspirations, and challenges, it is best to focus on bettering yourself. You want to make sure you are putting your energy in the right places. In order to do this, you have to focus on the better parts of you. Here are 6 ways to better yourself in 30 days.

#1) Eliminate unnecessary tasks: If you find yourself doing a lot of things for other people, focusing on things that aren't important or dwelling on tasks that you shouldn't then you need to start letting those things go. When you sit down and really determine what is important in your life you can use your energy on those things. This way you aren't burning yourself out early in the week or worst early every day. This could be eliminating extra tasks you've picked up during the years, groups you've joined that are no longer giving you substance or working on projects for others that you really don't want to. One thing I did was closed my beauty business in 2022 because I knew going into this year I wanted to focus on what was important to me. That freed up hours a week of time I could use to meditate, or just put into my more important tasks.

#2 Do little projects around your house: This may seem like your adding work to your plate, but if you do little things around the house that you've been wanting to get done, you will feel better. Everyone likes to have an environment that is comfortable to them. By attacking some small household projects you can feel better about doing other things and feel like you've accomplished something. I've been wanting backsplash in my kitchen for 4 years. Just this week my husband and I went to Home Depot got the peel and stick backsplash and put it up. It made our kitchen look amazing. I feel like I remodeled my kitchen and it only took about 3 hours. I feel rejuvenated just by a small upgrade.

#3 Find a way to work out that you will continue to do all year. In the beginning of the year people always say they're going to get fit and work out. By March, maybe April, people are back to putting working out off. It is important to try different workouts and stick to the ones you like. I love to hike. I haven't been in months. I decided to get back to hiking so I can release stress and focus on me. This gives me energy and it will allow me some "me time". By finding a workout you love and can do all year, you will be bettering your mind, body and soul. You need to have a way to release stress and to reenergize your body.

#4 Find a way to start your morning that gives you ambition and drive. When you get up in the morning if you're dreading your day, it can be a crapy way to start. Find a way to get up and get movtivated so you can take on the day. It can be watching a motivational video, listening to a song, jogging around the corner, mediating for 15 minutes, etc. What ever you do make sure it gets you going and you feel like you can take on the world. I typically set my alarm for 6am then lay in the bed for 30 minutes telling myself that "Today is going to be a great day" and thinking of all the great possibilities out there. I do this before I look at my phone, check email, etc. I use to take calls first thing in the morning, before even brushing my teeth sometimes and now I won't even look at my phone until I take some "me time". It puts you in a great head space and allows you to get ready to take on the day.

#5 Cut off any people that keep bringing negative energy to your life. This is harder if they are work people, however; if you can stop dealing with anyone who brings negative vibes to your life. When you do this it opens up your mind to positive thoughts and people. Instead of spending your day worried or stressed about negativity you can focus on the good things going in your life. This brings on a positive attitude, vibes and you will be surprised how much your life will change when you are positive about things. You can't just cut down the time you have to cut them off completely. The reason is you will find yourself back tracking into negativity land and misery loves company. You have the right to be happy and positive. I have cut out all the negative people in my life and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. No more drama, ego battles or uneasy events around these people. Just fun, love and great conversations with people who want to be apart of my life and are proud of me.

#6 Work on controlling your thoughts. You're the only person who can do this, No one can go into your mind and change your thoughts. The reason this is important is because how you look at things determines how you act about things. If you are dreadful about going to an event then you will not be happy about it and it will show. If you're excited to attend an event you it will show and you will have a great time. How you think about things controls your emotions which control your actions. Stop thinking negatively and be encouraging, insightful and ambitious. When you look at things differently it will allow you to change your way of living all together. I use to think that when people asked me for help they were just trying to get something done for free. Then I realized maybe they just value my opinion and want advice from someone they admire. That made me change the way I reacted to people asking me to do things. Your thoughts control every aspect of your life. Be positive.

2023 is going to be ab amazing year. Many people will accomplish things they've wanted for years. They will make more money, create new things and explore new places. When you look at life as a way to actually living instead of just getting by you can control the narrative of your life. There will always be ruff times, but how you think about them, react to them and challenge them determines the person you are. Try at least one or two of these things and leave a message as to how they helped you, changed you or affected your overall life. Grow, live, and change the world. Keep growing and inspiring.
