A Day At Venice Beach

Sometimes you have to take time to yourself and really understand what is going on around you. I did that this week at Venice Beach in California. I was able to spend the entire day on the beach thinking about life and what makes everything around me apart of me. Here's what I came up with while having a day at Venice Beach.

We drove in May 2nd 2022 and stayed at Air Venice On The Beach. Many of the hotels right off the beach are eclectic and give the urban hippy vibe. Normally, we would pass on these types of hotels, but I really wanted to be on the beach. I wanted to engulf myself in the beach vibe and relax.
The hotel was older, but very clean and had a cool atmosphere to it. We were literally right on the beach. Right on the boardwalk. The first night we got in late so we unpacked and had dinner. Then just watched TV and looked out the window at the dark endless sky with water pounding wave sounds in the near distance.
The next morning, we got up walked to a nearby cafe called Venice Flake had breakfast, then went to the beach. We sat there for hours. I thought about my sister, Sakina, that passed away recently. I thought about my Aunt Mary whom, just passed away and in a few days we would be headed to her funeral. I thought about all my businesses, friends, family and life n general. I thought to myself, this is the life. The life I've always dreamed of. Being able to travel when I want, without asking permission. I am able to give quality service to clients and fulfill their wedding dreams. I am able to relax in the moment with my husband.

I watched the waves come crashing in every few moments. The light breeze was refreshing to my face. Spending a Tuesday, just laying on the beach watching the sea gulls and listening to the water made me feel complete. My mind wondered and I began to think, if everyone took a day to sit at the beach and focused on themselves it could really help them understand what they want out of life.
Are you complete? That is with your career, love life, family life, friends, hobbies, etc. Do you feel your missing something? I did at one point. Now, after meditation, relaxation and working on myself, I feel like my life is finally mine. I want others to do better, but who am I to push them to do anything. Sitting at Venice Beach made me open my eyes to what life could be (even in the simplest life style).

After 4 or 5 hours of just sitting there we got up and walked the boardwalk. I wanted to taste all the fair style food so we walked as far to the end of the boardwalk as we could before we reached the residential area. Along the walk I had chili cheese fries, fried Twinkie, fried ding dong, a strawberry cheesecake shake and so much more. Overall, being there made me realize things about me. I completed let my hair down and got in my uncomfortable zone and thought about life, love, travel and career in a clear view.
If you get a chance take a small vacation to the beach, mountains or wherever you feel you can break down your own barriers and find out what is missing from your life (if anything) and what you want out of life. Waisting anymore precious time is a crime. Life the life you know you deserve. Stay safe, stay focused and stay traveling. Happy Travels.
