A Wedding, A Ride & A Venetian Stay

When my sister told me one week before she was getting married that she was getting married we scrambled to figure out how to make it, especially since we'd just gotten home from Miami a few days prior. Not only did we just get back, I am in the middle of planning my own wedding for January 9th 2021. Nevertheless, we packed our bags and headed out to Las Vegas for a Sunday afternoon weekend wedding.
We got up and left about 5am on Sunday, December 20th and headed to Vegas. The drive was nice because everyone slept except me and I was able to have movies playing in the car as I drove through the mountains and felt like this road trip to Vegas was different than others. It was simple, yet still adventurous. It was last minute, not much planned and we still didn't know all the details about the wedding.

Once we got there we checked into the Venetian hotel. We were greeted with wonderful hospitality and free valet parking. I know with Covid things are cheaper, but this was a different kind of travel. To feel VIP and treated as such made me wonder why we never stayed here before. The room was a two queen suite with a living room and one large bathroom. The shopping experience here is amazing. We were able to stay in our hotel and travel to Louis Vitton, Fendi, Alexander McQueen, and more.
Later that day we went to chapel and watched my sister get married to a guy she'd known since high school. I'd been to the chapel once before to watch my nephew get married and as a wedding planner the comfort was there, even though I didn't plan the wedding.

Las Vegas is known for its quick and simple weddings, with wild crazy nights for bachelor and bachelorette parties. We didn't have time for much of that because we'd simply went out for the wedding on the day of the wedding. However, we did select late checkout for the next day and took advantage of the hotel perks. We rode the boat called the Gondola rides, which reminds you of Venice, Italy. We did the indoor boat ride because it was chilly outside. It is a bit pricy at $39/person for about 20 minutes. We ate at a local pub that had a Parisian vibe. Then shopped in their luxury boutiques before headed home.
The wedding was simple and elegant. The ride was relaxing. The hotel was ideal and first class. If you get a chance to stay at the Venetian anytime soon please tell us how your experience was.
Traveling has always been a part of my life and although I am mostly going to west coast places next year in 2021 I will be in a lot of places down south, back east and all over AZ. Stay tuned for so many more travel blogs. Stay safe, stay focused and stay traveling. Happy Travels
