With so many holidays added to the calendar every year, how can you keep up with what are the most important ones, or the ones you want to partake in? It can be overwhelming, but one day you should celebrate this year is American Family Day. American Family Day is the first Sunday in August. This holiday was started in 1977 by Governor Raul Castro.

We spend time with out families everyday, but this day was meant to do something special and with purpose. Here are a few ways to spend your American Family Day:

Family Picnic

Movie day at home

Family swimming day

Board games

Roller Skating

Explore a place in your town

Cook together

Volunteer together

Hike

Go to a museum

Do an outside sport

One of the reasons this is a great day to celebrate is because it doesn’t involve gifts, promotions or anything specific. You can decide what you want to do with your family and just have a fun day of it. During the end of the summer when it is time to head back to school, work or career path, you may need a refresher with your family to remember what you are all working for. Enjoy your family day and let us know how you spent it by posting to this blog. Grow, live, and change the world. Keep growing and inspiring.
