The New Year is a change to feel alive, refreshed, to start over and to promise yourself things will be better. Many people do that by having New Year Resolutions. This year try something new. Instead of promising yourself you will work out more, eat better or save money. This year focus on being mentally stable. So, how do you start the New Year mentally stable?

Value Yourself and those around you. When you value yourself and your decisions you follow through with them. When you follow through with decisions you feel better about yourself. When you value those around you, you value their time, energy and in doing so they will do the same with you. Creating a better connection with yourself and others.
Surround yourself with positive people. These people don’t have to be “yes” people. Yes people are those that agree with everything you say and do. Surrounding yourself with positive people means those people support your decisions, talk positively, promote well-being and have a great vibe. When you are surrounded by positive people you feel better about yourself and your life.
Treat your body like a temple. You have to take care of your body if you want it to take care of you. Eating right, working out, brain exercises, drinking water, sleeping well, and all the other great healthy things you can do. You don’t have to give yourself a timeline because it should be a lifestyle not temporary thing. When you treat your body like a temple it shows. You look good, feel good, and have better thoughts.
Learn how to deal with stressful situations. There is always going to be something that comes up, changes or creates a chaotic situation. In these times you have to learn how to balance the stress. Otherwise, you get frustrated, overwhelmed, mad, etc. In doing that you get sick, headaches, your eating habits change and your body becomes an overload of issues. In order to be mentally stable you have to figure out the best way to deal with stress at work, home, everywhere. Figure out a plan that works for you. Even if that means not doing anything for 24 hours and then thinking of an outcome.

Practice meditation. When you get a chance to embrace your inner self it allows you to find answers to questions you didn’t realize you had the answer to. It also allows you to become one with yourself. Learning about you. When you do that mentally you become stronger and your body will thank you for that.
Change up the game plan. Stop being so monotonous. Having a routine is great, but sometimes you have to think outside the box and do things that will make you think. This is how you keep learning. You don’t want your life to be a bunch of routine things you do just to get through the day. Try changing things up once a month. Drive to work a different way. Change your breakfast every now and then. Workout differently. Hang out with different people. When you change things up a bit, you feel a sense of adventure and you provide your body and mental health with positive endorphins.
Read more. Reading allows you to adventure off into another mental state. You can envision the words on the paper. You capture the faces of characters. This allows you to have a play date with your mind. You’re mentally in another place. Sometimes you need that to forget about your own issues or just to relax your mind on what things you have to handle. Reading is still fundamental even as an adult.
Now that you know ways to start the year off with mental stability practice them and see what works for you. Being mentally stable can change your life, career, family time, happiness and goals. Stop doing things for 5 months and then forgetting all about it. Do something that will change your life, lifestyle and mental state. Life is a journey and you should enjoy the ride. The only way to do that is to be mentally stable. Grow, live, and change the world. Keep growing and inspiring.
