New Spot Called Rewind Treats

In the heart of Chandler, Arizona there is a new dessert, specialty drink shop called REWIND Treats. The concept came from the owners of Pokitrition, a sushi burrito shop located in the same plaza, after being asked for dessert by customers. They tried a few things in their restaurant, but with a small location it didn't work out.

They had to start a completely new dessert place. The concept is simple, they wanted to create the childhood memories of ice cream and cereal, with a twist of adult tea and coffee.

One of the owners, Anita Zhou, worked with college friends and family on the concept. We sat down with her to get the inside scoop for this ice cream specialty shop.

"After college my partners and I wanted to offer something different," Anita.

They tried a few recipes and kept the ones that people liked the most. Arizona didn't offer some of the exotic drinks they had in other states.

"We would travel to California just to try new restaurants and decided to open our own," Anita.

The shop is located in The Park at San Tan off the 101 and Ray Rd. The exact address is 3245 W Ray Rd #3, Chandler, AZ 85226. According to their website they are "serving cereal-infused ice cream by an aeronautic steel drill, as well as premium quality matcha from Japan and tea with boba add-ons."

The decor is simple and refreshing. The grass wall with the words "dripp it like it's hot" shining light up the first wall you see as you walk in. The green leaves on the wall to the left as you walk in creates a comforting vibe. It has a sleek, elegant feel for guests.

When asked what her favorite item on the menu is, Anita answered, the "Strawberry shortcake ice cream that has a mixture of cinnamon toast crunch because it is crunchy and flavorful."

They have a variety of ice cream choices, matchas and milk teas. She was kind enough to share three favorites, Wintermelon Tea, Rose Milk Latte, and Taro Milk Tea of which all were delicious and flavorful.

So what makes this place different from any other boba tea shop?

"We source ice cream locally and they have all real ingredients - it is blended through drill and mixed with cereal," Anita. They also offer real fruit and tea options.

They currently only have one location, but are aiming for another location to be opened March/April of 2022 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

"Our goal is March for our new Scottsdale location," Anita.

The menu was inspired by friends and family mixing all kinds of drinks and deciding which ones they wanted to put on the menu.

"We have a lot of friends and family that taste test the desserts and just started mixing things together with cereal then added fruit to elevate the desserts," Anita.

This is a new shop on the rise and will be taking Arizona by storm. They also have a future interest in being at Westgate, which is located in Glendale, Arizona, right next to the football stadium.
