With the world in a stir about health and safety some have gone back to traveling while others are still figuring out their way for family vacations and travel. Instead of traveling to California for my goddaughters 2nd birthday we decided to do a staycation @ Holiday Inn Club Vacations in Scottsdale. The goal was to have a mini birthday party in a suite where the kids could play, swim and enjoy the company of each other. I'd never heard of the place but my niece, Nickey, said it would be a blast. Here is what I gathered from the stay.

Upon arrival the hotel was clean, refreshing and the atmosphere was inviting. When I got into the three bedroom villa it reminded me of an upscale apartment. In a regular villa you have the same amenities, however; the brickwork on the wall, fireplace and other amenities are not there. So if deciding to book a villa with the upgrades, it is worth it.
I saw 4 pools from our room. One being a kid splash pad that allows them to bask in the sun on their own. The water is only 1 1/2 ft so most kids can walk through it with no problem. They have a huge bucket that splashes down every 3-5 minutes and two slides. It has a basketball court poolside so you can stay cool and get exercise. The other pools were adult pools that allow for swimming and relaxing in the jacuzzi.

They have a restaurant on site, but due to Covid it was closed. They do however, have a grab and go shop that allows you to buy snacks.
As I walked through the grounds it was relaxing and comforting. You get the feeling you're in a home away from home. The staff was amazing. From the life guards to the check in staff. Currently, most hotels are not doing house-keeping so the groundsmen would come around and throw out trash from each villa's main trash can every hour. There were tons of trees which made the resort feel tropical. They had waterfalls throughout the property giving the sounds a tranquil feeling.

The best thing of all was my goddaughter had a blast on her 2nd birthday with family and friends. Overall, the hotel was one of the best staycations i've had. It allowed me privacy in the hotel because of the three rooms, but still allowed me to feel close to what was going on with the kids and the party. The pools allowed me to relax, while the views gave me a different vision of Arizona. If you get the chance to travel to Arizona try Holiday Inn Club Vacations and tell me what you think.
