For Mother's Day I wanted to relax and do something special with my mom. I decided to do a staycation here in Phoenix at The Marriott Vacation Club Canyon Villas because it was close and the pool looked relaxing. We checked in on Saturday, May 8th and had a one night stay. Upon arrival the place looks basic, but when you check in you realize the amenities it has and how relaxing the vibe is.

We had a two bedroom villa. One with a king bed and the other with two queen beds. The sofa was also a let out bed and the mattress was firm, clean and comfortable. There is a full kitchen with stove. The room with the king bed had a deep relaxing spa tub and sink with a connecting door to the bathroom and shower. I thought this was an amazing idea because it still allows for those in the "main" area to use this bathroom, but still gives the host privacy of the bath and facial area.
We put our bathing suits on and headed to the pool with that waterfall. They have a total of three pools. The pool area was clean and I saw staff constantly disinfecting the seats and tables as people left. That also made me feel better about the stay. The pool area also has a bar and grill. A great way to relax at the pool and enjoy drinks and snacks. The pool has a basketball net, plenty of space and lots of chairs around with shade.

Instead of going to a fancy dinner we cooked in the room and enjoyed each other's company. The dinner table was large enough for 6 or more. Each room had adequate space. There was a patio off the den that shared a patio with the king bed room.
The best way to describe the hotel room was an upgraded apartment. They provide pots, pans, glasses, washer, dryer, vacuum, ironing board, etc. All you have to do is bring your clothes and enjoy the establishment. The staff were nice and polite. The atmosphere was enlightening. I felt so comfortable there. If you are going to visit Arizona this is a great place to stay. If you want to do a staycation this is the perfect location with or without kids. There are stores, restaurants and banks located 5 minutes away from the hotel.
While laying in the bathtub I was able to watch the Marriott announcement channel and realized they have similar hotels all around the world. The one that I was most interested in was Park City, Utah, as that is where we spent our honeymoon. I may have to book that next January and tell you how it is. If you've stayed at this location before let me know how it was. Stay safe, stay focused and stay traveling. Happy Travels.
