Early July provides great barbecue weather all around the U.S., and Independence Day gives us a chance to get together with our friends and family and take a minute to kick back and relax. Choosing the right destination can make your Independence Day celebrations even better.

1. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The home of independence

Philadelphia in July will be warm, filled with patriotic sites to see and great food. Philadelphia is known for its vibrant community, cheesesteaks, and of course, The Liberty Bell. This city is also where our founding fathers read the Declaration of Independence for the first time before America became America.

2. Bar Harbor, Maine – An Independence Day hike

Bar Harbor is situated near Acadia National Park and has fantastic weather during the summer. There are many local events around the town, like a Pancake Breakfast, that you can join in on the holiday fun. You can also hike in the park and see some of Maine's fantastic natural beauty.

3. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – What's better than the beach in the summer?

Sun in the sky, sand between your toes, the salty sea air blowing through your hair, that is Myrtle Beach. With over 60 miles of sandy Atlantic beachfront, Myrtle Beach has plenty of places for you to find some holiday seclusion and get that golden brown glow. The city also boasts dozens of parades on the 4th that is fun for the whole family.

4. Nashville, Tennessee – Music City, USA

Nearly every great country song has passed through the city of Nashville. Music legends have walked down the street with their instruments on their way to the next venue. Nashville boasts a stunning fireworks display every year for Independence Day that will be sure to knock your boots off. If you are thinking about spending the holiday in Nashville, you will find yourself surrounded by music, southern hospitality, and extravagant light shows.

5. Washington D.C. – The capital of the USA

The capital is one of the most vibrant cities to spend the 4th. It may seem a little cliché to spend Independence Day in the nation's capital, but that's okay because they know how to celebrate properly. The city will be filled with events, parades, and parties that will keep you busy from when you arrive until you leave. If the party vibe is not for you, take the time to see some of the fantastic monuments and museums scattered around the city. These contain works of art from all over the world, history about America, and they are air-conditioned, which is a lifesaver in a Washington summer.

6. Lake Tahoe, California – A minor nature never hurt anybody

Independence Day is historically a day of partying, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. Lake Tahoe contains some incredible scenery that will take your breath away. Lake Tahoe has something for every nature lover with sandy beaches, mountain trails, and a quaint town. Imagine yourself having a cookout on the shore of Lake Tahoe as the sunsets and the Sierra Nevada mountains encompass you.

Independence Day is important for everyone in America. It signifies the rebellious nature of our country and how we work hard and enjoy a little relaxation. Taking in all this nation has to offer is the best way to enjoy the day off, kick back, and watch the fireworks show with those closest to you. Choosing the right location for your celebrations can help make the party just that much better.Stay safe, stay focused and stay traveling. Happy Travels.
